Annual Indus Golf Tournament 2020

The 2nd Annual Indus Golf Tournament took place on September 24, 2020, in London, organized by Indus Health Network UK Charity to raise awareness about

the contributions and services provided by The Indus Hospital, Pakistan (TIH). 24 enthusiastic golfers’ actively participated in the event and played in 6 different teams to show their commitment to CSR in support of TIH’s mission which is to provide quality healthcare free of cost to the underserved community of Pakistan.

The UK government introduced strict SOPs following the latest situation of COVID-19 because of which the event was restricted to 30 people only. Despite the limited number of participants, the golfers were able to raise more than £10,000 of donations for Indus Hospital, Pakistan. On behalf of TIH, Ibrahim Jamali; Director Operations of Indus Health Network UK, appealed to the Pakistani community residing in Europe to extend their support to Indus Health Network so that more lives can be saved.

Indus Hospital has a vision to change the paradigm of healthcare delivery in Pakistan by providing quality healthcare services to everyone, irrespective of their financial status. At present, about 300,000 patients are treated every month across 52 districts in Pakistan through a network of hospitals, clinics, mobile units, and dispensaries. Indus Hospital is also providing treatment to children with cancer from all across Pakistan and has successfully treated more than 10,000 patients.

On behalf of the Pakistan High Commission, Mr. Zaigham Hassan distributed the prizes amongst the winners and top performers. Aizad Hussain, a famous golfer won the tournament while Javaid Alvi, Farooq Velmi, Akbar Manji, Veshal Sharma, and Asif Paracha won other prizes. The event was managed under the leadership of Mr. Saleem Zahid, Raffi Peracha, and Raheel Ahmed who did not leave a stone unturned to make this event a success.
